Don’t miss City Theatre’s production of the John Steinbeck classic, “Cannery Row,” Feb. 28 to March 23.
Originally produced by The Western Stage of Salinas, Calif. for the 1995 National Steinbeck Festival, this adaptation brings to the stage the beloved characters of Doc Ricketts, Mack and the Boys, and all the other “mostly true” denizens of Cannery Row as they try to make the best of life in Depression-era Monterey. This production, directed by Christine Nicholson, features a live four-piece band and 35 actors playing more than 70 roles.
Performances will be in the Performing Arts Center, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with a Saturday matinee on March 22. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 with a student ID. Find more information or buy tickets at citytheatre.net.
