Caltrans will begin construction May 27 on the westbound portion of the Highway 50 Viaduct between W and X streets. The rehabilitation project will continue through June 25 and may cause traffic delays of up to one hour along Highway 50, connected freeways and on surface streets near the Sacramento City College main campus and outreach centers.
Information about Fix 50, including project updates and alternate routes, is available at www.fix50.com.
Use of alternate transportation — such as carpooling, bicycling and the RT Light Rail, bus and park-and-ride options — may help ease congestion and be more convenient for the rider. For public transit information, visit the Sacramento Regional Transit site, www.sacrt.com.
Eastbound construction began April 22 and was completed May 2, ahead of the target completion date of May 21.
