Cradle Will Rock

City Theatre Performing Depression Era Musical

The Cradle Will Rock is the new play to be debuted on Friday, Feb. 27 in the newly remodeled Performing Arts Center at Sacramento City College.

This was the last play funded by the Federal Theatre Project of 1937, and celebrates the hard working men and women of the 1930s. It shows the efforts and struggles of people trying to organize unions.

It is historically rich, brutally funny and musically glorious. City Theatre’s production includes a cast of 30 with a six-piece musical ensemble.

Performance dates are: Feb. 27, 28, March 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m., and March 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 2 p.m.

Tickets range from $10 to $18 each.
