Panthers Softballers Go 4-0 at Fresno Tournament

Sac City’s Softball team emerged victorious from the recent Fresno Tournament, winning all four games Feb. 28 and March 1. The Panthers beat Porterville College 3-2, Ohlone 8-5, Fresno 8-3 and Merced 11-0 in the final game.

Freshman First-baseman Erikka Burke leads the Panthers with a .395 batting average and 12 RBI thus far. She also is tied for the team lead with two home runs. Kailey Olcott (So., INF), Riley Ammaturo (So., OF) and Noelani Kakalia (So, 1B) also have hit two home runs for Sac City.

The team is batting .315 with 100 runs scored in its first 15 games and sports a 10-5 record.

Sac City plays host to Diablo Valley College on Tuesday at 3 p.m., and Modesto in a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
