Jesus Debate Draws Big Crowd

Wednesday night’s forum in the Student Center, entitled “The Jesus Debate: Lord or Legend” drew a standing room only crowd of more than 200 people, who listened to two noted authors debate the authenticity of the New Testament Gospels, and ultimately if Jesus of Nazareth ever truly existed.

Author and filmmaker John Christy presented the Christian side of the debate, while author David Fitzgerald argued on behalf of atheists. Sacramento City College’s student clubs, SSA-SCC and the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, presented the lively debate.

It was broadcast live on and videotaped for future broadcast on cable channels 15 and 16, through the Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium.
