Having Trouble Finding A Class?
DON'T GIVE UP - HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP!

- I can't find a class what do I do?
Look for a class at an Outreach Center or in the afternoon. Be flexible, see a counselor or look at a General Education sheet for alternative classes. Review your Educational Plan and major requirements and take other classes. - What do I do if I don't get in?
See a counselor and look for other options. But if you find no classes that meet your need this semester, register at your earliest time for summer and fall. - What do I do all reading/English/math, etc courses are filled?
Look at other classes you can take this semester that are in different areas and don't have a prerequisite. Many classes fulfill General Education or major requirements. Register early next semester. - Why can't you open another section?
Unfortunately, we do not have the staff or the classroom space to be able to offer another section of that course. - I must have the class as a prerequisite to get into a program this semester, what do I do?
If classes are full and the waitlist is full, you can try and go to the class and see what your options are. Instructors must take people off the waitlist in order first. If you can not get into a class, you should check other colleges and other times. If you do not get the class at all this semester, register at your earliest time for next semester. - Can I go to ARC, CRC, FLC to get the class?
Yes, you can check for open classes at all Los Rios colleges on eServices. Remember to fill out a Financial Aid Consortium form if you receive Financial Aid. If you are an EOP&S student, you must take nine of your units at SCC. You can also check other colleges in our area, such as Delta (Stockton) and Sierra (Rocklin). - How can I get into a class if it requires an assessment?
You can go to the Assessment Center during normal operating hours and take the assessment test. No appointment is needed. You will get your results immediately upon completing the test. Bring the results to your instructor on the first day of class. If you're on a waiting list, be sure to show your instructor your assessment test results. It may increase your chance of gaining a seat in the class. - Are classes available at Outreach centers?
Many of the classes offered at Davis, West Sacramento, and the Downtown Center have seats available. Please check the open class list for availability. - I need help and I can't see a counselor, what should I do?
See a counselor early in the morning, they are available at 7:30 a.m. Look online for resources. Check the Counseling page on the SCC website for links about transfer and graduation. Counseling accepts appointments all year. Make an appointment for later, you may still have the same questions.
