2013-2014 SCC Financial Aid Disbursement, Recalculation and Priority Dates

Mar 4

Priority FAFSA filing

Students may still submit FAFSA after this date, but priority is given on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Additionally, students may not be considered for Cal grant if they file after the March 2nd Deadline.

Mar 4

Cal Grant GPA

GPA verifications must be submitted to the California Student Aid Commission by this date for statewide consideration for a Cal Grant.

June 3

File Completion for Fall

To ensure students are awarded aid the first week of the semester -or the first week of attendance of classes-, students must turn in all required documents and meet all eligibility standards.

July 18

Enrollment cut off for first Fall payment

In addition to completing your file by the "File Completion for Fall" deadline, students must be enrolled in their coursework that starts at the beginning of the term to receive aid the first week of the semester. Students who add courses after this deadline may not receive payment for the courses added on the first week of classes. Students will not receive grants until the courses have started.

Sept 2

Cal Grant CC Deadline

Students who want to be considered for a Cal Grant from the California Student Aid Commission for Community College students only, must complete a FAFSA, GPA verification, and be enrolled at a community college by this date.

Oct 10

Fall Consortium request

Students who are attending another college within Los Rios Community College and want the financial aid office to consider the units for payment, must submit a request by this date.

Recalculation Date
(Fall Award Eligibility date)

The amount Fall financial aid eligibility will be based on the units students are enrolled in on this date. Students who add classes after this date will not receive aid for the late added classes. Students who received funding on or prior to this date and dropped classes may be required to repay based on their current enrollment on this date, NO adjustments will be made after this date.

Nov 1

Last day to Appeal Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Eligibility

Students who wish to submit a Financial Appeal due to lack of Satisfactory Academic Progress must turn in their request by this date. Requests received after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Failure to meet deadline may result in denial of the Appeal.

Nov 7

Loan request for Fall

Students who wish to receive a loan must submit their request and all the required documentations for a loan request by this date. Request received after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Failure to meet the deadline may result in denial of a loan.

Dec 19

End of the term file completion

For students seeking aid for Fall, students should submit all requested documents by this date, failure to complete their file by this date may forfeit aid eligibility for this term.
