About 2-3 days after you submit your FAFSA, you will receive your FAFSA results in an email report if you provide an email address or in 2-3 weeks if you requested your information by mail. The report is called your Student Aid Report (SAR). Your SAR details all the information you provided on your FAFSA. If there are no corrections or no additional information needed, your SAR will include your EFC (Expected Family Contribution.) Your EFC is the amount that your family is expected to contribute towards your education. Your financial need is then determined by subtracting your EFC from the cost of attendance.
About 4 weeks after Sacramento City College receives your FAFSA, you will receive an email from the Financial Aid Office that will include information about any additional documentation we may need to complete your file.
Once your file is complete, it will take about 2-3 weeks to process your award information. All information, including your financial aid award is available to you online on My City Aid at www.scc.losrios.edu/financial-aid.
Financial aid staff members are in the Registration/Financial Aid Lab, which is located in the Business Building, Room B153, and are ready to help you access your online financial aid information.
