Admission Requirements
- Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL 133 computerized/ 450 paper/iBT 45 internet-based) score, ITELTS 6,0 or STEP 2A (Japan only). Please no photocopies.
- Official financial bank letter on bank letterhead showing in the exchange rate of U.S. $15,000.00 for one year of studies. If being sponsored by a U.S. citizen, an additional USCIS Affidavit of Support Form I-134 is required. F-1 SEVIS information and forms can be downloaded at: www.uscis.gov
- Official high school diploma with transcripts and official college transcripts, if any. Non-English transcripts should be accompanied by English translation. No photocopies.
- One small photograph with your name on the back.
- Fully completed SCC International Admission Packet.
- SCC/Los Rios Community College Application for Enrollment, select SCC only. If completed online at www.scc.losrios.edu, give I-Center your SCC ID number.
- U.S. $50.00 nonrefundable Application processing fee payable to Sacramento City College in a form of a check, money order, or cashier's check (do not send cash) payable on a United States bank.
- If currently studying in the U.S., Transfer Authorization Form from your current International Advisor, PDSO/DSO.
- Upon arrival at the college, proof of LRCCD/SCC Health & Medical Insurance or a comparable plan (translated in English with coverage dates).
- If currently studying in the U.S. and/or on another visa type, the following is also required: Clear and readable Copy of American Consulate entry VISA page in your passport, Copy of your I-94 front and back, Copy of your current school's I-20 front and back.
- Transfer students within the United States must have:
- SCC Transfer Form signed off by International Advisor, PDSO/DSO
- Copy of your current school's I-20 issued to you
- Copy of U.S. Visa entry page in your passport
- Copy of I-94 in your passport

**International students (F/J/M-status) must have health insurance coverage and it must be valid in the United States. All enrolled international students will be required to purchase international health insurance from a Los Rios Community College District (LRCCD)- recommended provider or show proof of coverage. If international students do not meet the above registration procedure, a hold will be placed on their records. Any other insurance plan is permitted only if it includes physical, hospital, injury/sickness, medical evacuation, and repatriation expenses meeting the same coverage as the current LRCCD international health insurance policy. Details available at the SCC Health Office or the SCC International Student Center. If you wish to use another plan, you must provide proof of purchase for the entire year and you must provide a list of benefits (written in English) offered by the plan for approval. Application Deadline
Overseas applicants are advised to apply as early as possible before deadline dates to enroll with non-immigrant student status and enough time to pay your I-901 visa fee, make American Consulate appointment/mail-in and interview regarding final F-1 status approval.
- FALL SEMESTER (August - December) applying outside U.S - MAY 1
- SPRING SEMESTER (January - May) applying outside U.S - NOVEMBER 1
- Note: consideration of rolling application deadlines is handled on a case by case basis looking at fully completed SCC International Packet, Transfer Release Status and course availability registration for full-time 12 units. Late applications may be considered if you are already residing in the United States. For more information, contact the SCC International Student Center.
General responsibilities as an international (F-1 status) accepted student
- Keep your passport valid at all times.
- Maintain full-time enrollment during the academic year.
- File any necessary extensions of stay before your present stay expires.
- Do not accept off-campus employment without official USCIS permission.
- Do not travel outside the United States, even briefly, without the proper documents.
- Meet with the SCC International Advisor at least twice a semester.
- Keep up-dated address with USCIS and College within 10 days of moving.
- W's do not count towards 12 units.
