General Procedures

This quick reference flip chart is an integral part of a comprehensive Emergency Procedures Plan for Sacramento City College. It is designed for use by students, faculty and staff to provide initial response procedures to follow in the event of an emergency that occurs on campus or in the local area that will impact the campus.

In the event of a serious emergency or local area disaster (floods, earthquake), the College Administrative staff will take steps to activate the SCC Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC will assume responsibility for management of the situation and coordination with local police, fire and medical units that will be responding to the emergency.

For emergency events that occur after normal duty hours and in the absence of an administrative officer, the senior College Police Officer on duty will implement these procedures and make appropriate notifications in accordance with department standard operating procedures. College Police emergency notification number is 558-2221 or use emergency telephones located on campus.

It is highly recommended that faculty familiarize themselves with these procedures and bring to the attention of students during initial class meetings for a semester.
