The initiative theme for Staff Development during the period from Fall 2011 through Spring 2013 is "SCC-Leading Through Change".  This phrase holds multiple meanings during this period of turmoil in the community college movement.  Sacramento City College is a part of a system of community colleges that is seeing change from a number of directions - there are financial constraints that challenge our ability to fulfill our multiple missions, there are calls for accountability that reaffirm our commitment to student success, and our students are needing more support and direction in order to achieve their college goals.  Sacramento City College must continue to lead even as these challenges are set before us.  Additionally, SCC is an acknowledged leader in both the district and in community colleges in general.  Our faculty, staff and administrators are taking responsibility to stay committed to our college values: working together, pursuing excellence, and inspiring achievement.  In pursuing those values, SCC is making the changes that lead to fulfillment of college goals and our mission to serve our students and community.
