STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Sacramento City College has a number of options to promote staff development.  The college has "flex days", the Thursday and Friday of the week prior to the start of classes.  In addition, technology specific workshops are offered on the Wednesday of flex week.  The description of the workshops offered during flex can be found at http://www.scc.losrios.edu/x31577.xml

Additionally, there are workshops offered throughout the semester.  Workshop notifications are sent through email, posted on City Chronicles, or available through the college calendar (on Inside SCC and the college's website).

Adjunct faculty have a flex "obligation" if they teach on Thursday or Friday during the semester. The obligation is equivalent to the number of hours that your classes are in session on those two days.  Flex obligations can be met by attending flex day workshops or other workshops during the semester.  Additional ways of meeting flex obligations should be reviewed with the division dean.  Flex obligation forms are online, on the Staff Resource Center flex site.
