Reach Out and Connect with Sacramento City College's Alumni
SACRAMENTO - For the first time in nearly a century, Sacramento City College (SCC) will be reaching out to its alumni by phone in an unprecedented effort to reconnect with them and seek their support for SCC students who are pursuing their academic goals and success.
SCC is launching its Reach Out and Connect Campaign to get the word out to all its former students that its centennial celebration is only two years away, in 2016. This is the college's first telephone outreach campaign focused on alumni, and it is important for former students to be aware that the calls they will receive as part of this campaign are legitimate. SCC alumni are urged to please answer the call and hear about the many ways that their college is changing the lives of students, boosting the economy and improving the future of the greater Sacramento region. In fact, nearly 80 percent of SCC's current students are Sacramento County residents. So, please take a moment to celebrate and embrace the past 98 years of SCC's history, and consider supporting the next century of excellence.
Funds raised through this campaign will go to Sacramento City College and its students. The support is sorely needed. An estimated two-thirds of SCC students receive financial aid while facing the challenges of purchasing textbooks and other school supplies, working and, for many, supporting a family. SCC students are striving to fulfill their dreams, whether that is pursuing a certificate or two-year degree, or transferring to a four-year college or university.
