NEW ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SCC NURSING PROGRAM

The Associate Degree Nursing Program will be implementing major curriculum changes that affect nursing semester units, pre-requisite courses, and content taught in each semester. Curriculum changes will be phased in beginning in Fall 2012 and will continue through Spring 2013.  Gerontology content is being added to the entire program, in addition to nutrition, human development, and cultural diversity.  Each nursing course will be 12 units.  NURSE 305, the LVN to RN course, will not be offered during summer of 2012 due to incorporation of curriculum changes in the program. NURSE 305 will be offered in summer of 2013. The nursing website will be updated during the summer of 2012 to reflect these changes. The new application and selection process, including the Test of Essential Skills (TEAS) Version 5, will continue to be utilized. You are welcome to come to our Information Meetings that will resume in January 2012.
