Megan Winton was a two-sport athlete for the Panthers this season, following her Coach (Tim Kiernan) out on the links in the fall as a golfer and then over to “The Yard” in the spring as a softball player. On the golf course she would record a person season best score of 97 twice, while she averaged around a 106 on the year. She helped lead her team to a 5th place finish at the Nor-Cal Championships. On the softball field she helped lead the Panthers offense with a team-high 52 hits and 16 doubles. She scored the 2nd most runs, with 38, had the 3rd best average on the team at .403, and drove in 33 runs with 3 long balls this spring.
Winton helped lead the Panthers to a 2nd place finish in the Big 8 Conference and another post-season appearance. She was named to the 1st Team All-Big 8 Conference as an outfielder. While her season just came to an end in the Nor-Cal Super Regional last weekend, she can now focus on her options for where she will continue her education and softball career next season.
