Welcome to the Business Department at Sacramento City College.  We prepare students for a variety of careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations.  Additionally, the Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree helps students transfer to the CSU system.  Our programs prepare students to think critically, analytically, and creatively in an increasingly diverse environment.  Professors teach skills that you can directly apply to the workplace.

SCC Business professors have advanced degrees.  They have practiced what they teach, bringing to the classroom their years of experience working in industry.  There is perhaps no better place in Sacramento to obtain a quality education.  And there is certainly no place that provides a better value.

The Business Department includes courses and programs in an array of disciplines.  These include Accounting, Business, Economics, Management, Marketing, Office Administration (Business Technology), and Real Estate.  Questions about which major is right for you?  Speak to any of our professors – we’re happy to help.

Most of the courses we offer are transferable to CSU and/or UC.  We also offer several courses that count toward SCC General Education requirements in the following GE areas:  Languages and Rationality (Area II), Living Skills (Area III b), Social and Behavioral Sciences (Area Vb), Ethnic/Multicultural Studies (Area VI), the Writing Competency, and the Mathematics Competency.
