October 9-25, 2017 Sparks is one of Sacramento’s most recognized and beloved architects, and is best known for his work with Streng Brothers Homes. Alone, as the architect for the Streng Brothers, Sparks contributed to over 3,000 modern residences in the Sacramento Region. Join the Sacramento Art Deco Society for a 1-1/2 hour tour of City College. The tours begin on Hughes Stadium's north side and end in the Library's Special Collections room. In between, we will look at Art Deco buildings, paintings, and decorative arts. Vintage photos of the campus, and student life, will also be presented.
