This event is a follow up to the Spring 2014 Student Success Charette/discussion activity held during convocation.
We will break into small groups and have discussion based on the following two prompts:
- How can we foster engagement with new and returning students to ensure they stay connected with the resources they need to be successful in their academic goals?
- How can we identify and support students who are in danger of failing, going on academic probation/dismissal; and/or dropping out?
Each group will have four to six members, as well as one facilitator, to help keep the conversation focused and productive, and one note taker.
The themes, ideas, and outcomes of these Summer Charette discussions will directly influence the charette planned for fall Convocation, during which the conversations will be held on a department/division level. In the fall each division/department will hold discussions about how the ideas from the spring and summer charettes, regarding the improvement of student success outcomes, might be implemented into the practices of SCC staff, faculty, and management of each department/divisions.
ALL CLASSIFIED STAFF MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND — Please check with your supervisor first!
