Financial Aid Office Protocol for Complaints and Concerns

 

The Financial Aid and Student Services Division (FASS) has established the following procedure for students with concerns and/or complaints regarding the Financial Aid Office:

 

  1. Students should visit the Financial Aid Office or call the Financial Aid main line at (916) 558-2501 with their concerns. If the situation does not get resolved, an appointment can be requested.
  2. The next step is an appointment with a Financial Aid Officer. Officer appointments are held Tuesday through Thursday of each week. There are no appointments during the first week of the fall and spring semesters.
  3. If the student does not feel that the situation has been resolved, they should tell the Financial Aid Officer at the end of their appointment. The student will then be referred to meet with the Financial Aid Supervisor.
  4. If the situation still has not been resolved, the Financial Aid Supervisor will inform the Dean of Financial Aid and Student Services. The FASS Dean’s office will then contact the student to schedule an appointment.

 

Students will not be scheduled to meet with the Dean of FASS until they have followed steps 1 through 3.
