Fall 2015

Priority FAFSA FilingStudents may still submit a FAFSA after this date, but priority is given on a first-come-first-serve basis. Additionally, students may not be considered for Cal grant if they file after the March 2nd Deadline.

Enrollment cut off for first Fall paymentIn addition to completing your file by the “File Completion for Fall” deadline, students must be enrolled in their coursework that starts at the beginning of the term to receive aid the first week of the semester. Students who add courses after this deadline may not receive payment for the courses added on the first week of classes. Students will not receive grants until the courses have started.

First DisbursementThe first disbursement for all students enrolled in more than six units will be based on full-time status. Those students will receive ½ of a full time award. Only full time and three-quarter time students will receive two disbursements per semester. Half-time and Less than Half-time students will receive one disbursement.

After the first disbursement, as files are completed, subsequent disbursements will be made every week.

Cal Grant CC DeadlineStudents who want to be considered for a Cal Grant from the California Student Aid Commission for Community College students only, must complete a FAFSA, GPA verification, and be enrolled at a community college by this date.

Fall Consortium requestStudents who are attending another college within Los Rios Community College and want the financial aid office to consider the units for payment, must submit a request by this date.

 The amount Fall financial aid eligibility will be based on the units students are enrolled in on this date. Students who add classes after this date will not receive aid for the late added classes. Students who received funding on or prior to this date and dropped classes may be required to repay based on their current enrollment on this date, NO adjustments will be made after this date.

OCT. 12017-2018 FAFSA OpensStudents will be able to file a 2017–18 FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2016, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, 2017.
