Have you been told a course is ineligible for financial aid?

Financial Aid can only be used to cover the cost of courses that are eligible for your current major at Sacramento City College. Enrolling in courses for your major will also help you meet your educational goal faster.   If you are enrolled in courses that are not required, you will receive a notification indicating that these courses are not eligible to receive financial aid. If you have been awarded a BOG fee waiver, your fees will remain waived. (The BOG fee waiver is good for all courses, even those not required for your major.)

If you think that you have received this notification in error, follow these steps for each course on your schedule which has been identified as ineligible for financial aid:

View your course list in eServices

Are you in 12 units of eligible courses?

YES
You will receive the full award and do not need to do anything.
Dropping below 12 units of eligible courses will reduce your award.
NO
Is this course a prerequisite, ESL, or basic skills?
YES
Go to
Admission & Records
STS-103
and speak with an evaluator, or go to West Sac or Davis counter
NO

Is your major correct?

NO
Make a Counseling appointment
RHN-147
If you are an EOPS, DSPS, or CalWORKS student, or a student athlete or veteran, see your associated counselor.
YES
Is this course required for your major or General Education?
YES
