Sacramento City College is invested in expanding educational opportunities for, and improving the attainment of this growing segment of the population.  The recently-awarded grant enables the college to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.

We are excited to launch a new project for 2016-2017: Students in A Global Economy (SAGE)

SCC met the program-specific eligibility requirements as a Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institution, and formally introduced itself Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). We are the first college to reach this designation in the Los Rios Community College District.

The Department of Education (DOE) defines an HSI as an institution of higher education that has an enrollment of undergraduate full-time equivalent students that is at least 25 percent Hispanic. SCC has, in fact, more than 29% Hispanic/Latino, representing the single highest racial/ethnic group at the college.
