Student Technology Support

Photo of the Learning Resource CenterTechnology familiarization has become essential to higher education. Students who are not familiar with technology may need more support than you can schedule. If you have a student that needs help with technology familiarization, please direct that student to Academic Computing.

Two computer labs at SCC are available to all Los Rios Community College District students: LR-144 & B-152.

Both labs have instructional assistants who are available to guide students as they learn to use Microsoft Office, Los Rios Gmail/Apps, and D2L. Printers are also available in both labs however color printing is only available in LR-144. Students may purchase headphones for $1 at the Media Reserve/Checkout counter near LR-144.

If technology is essential to your course, you may counsel students to try the following courses first:

If they need to learn to use computers, they should take CISC 300 and CISC 320. If they need Internet and e-mail skills they should take CISC 305. If they need to know how to use a word processor they should take CISA 305. If they need to learn D2L and Google Drive, they should take LTAT330
