One of the admission requirements for international students is English Proficiency. If you are applying directly from a foreign college or university where English is not the native language, you are strongly encouraged to take as much English as your curriculum will allow so that you can pass an English placement test. You will need to demonstrate your English proficiency with one of the approved examinations:

Score: 45 (internet based), or 133 (computer based), or 450 (written).

- US Transfer Students ONLY:
US College Official Transcripts showing proof of successful completion (with a letter grade) of a College level English Writing Course -or- if you are in the Sacramento area, we recommend you take the SCC Assessment Placement test.
If you do not meet the SCC English minimum requirement (application item #1) or you only want to improve your English, you can contact these local ESL Program Schools to assist you with your English education. By attending one of these ESL Program schools, you might achieve the required English Proficiency needed to apply.
