Newly Admitted Students

New Students – Coming from Overseas

  • Check in at the ISC within 10 days of arrival into US
    - or anytime you travel out of the US – check in at the ISC within 10 days.
  • Attend the mandatory Orientation.
  • Maintain full-time enrollment and completion each semester (Fall, Spring).
    • A minimum of 12 units is mandatory.
    • Withdrawals (W) from courses do not meet the 12 unit requirement.
  • Communicate directly and frequently with your SCC DSO/PDSO.
  • Meet with the SCC International Counselor twice a semester.
  • Keep up-dated contact information with USCIS, SCC eServices, and the SCC-ISC.
  • Do not accept off-campus employment without official USCIS permission.
  • Do not travel outside the United States, even briefly, without the proper documents signed by SCC PDSO/DSO.
  • Keep your passport valid at all times.
  • File any necessary extensions of stay before your present stay expires (timeline restrictions may apply – check your SEVIS requirements).

Transfer-In Students – from a U.S. College

  • Submit your acceptance letter to your current school to complete the transfer process.
  • Attend the mandatory Orientation.
  • Maintain full-time enrollment and completion each semester (Fall, Spring).
    • A minimum of 12 units is mandatory.
    • Withdrawals (W) from courses do not meet the 12 unit requirement.
  • Communicate directly and frequently with your SCC DSO/PDSO.
