President Jeffery

On March 17, 2008, Dr. Kathryn E. Jeffery began serving as the 14th President of Sacramento City College (SCC). Dr. Jeffery is the first woman to be appointed as President in the college’s history. She now comes full circle and returns where she began her journey. She was a counselor and instructor at SCC from 1983-1990. With many years of higher education experience in multiple areas of college leadership, Dr. Jeffery’s leadership appointments include  President of Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota, Provost/Chief Campus Administrator at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, Vice President of Columbia College in the Yosemite Community College District, and Dean for Faculty and Staff Diversity/Development, as well as Student Services at the Chancellor’s Office of California Community Colleges. Dr. Jeffery serves on the Board of Directors for the California Community College Athletics Association, American Heart Association, and West Sacramento Early College Preparatory Charter School.
