portrait of Whitney YamamuraWhitney Yamamura has served as the Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning and Accreditation Liaison Officer at Cosumnes River College since June 2008. He also acted as interim president of Cosumnes River College during the spring of 2015. Prior to his current position, Whitney was the founding dean at the American River College Natomas Center where he managed instruction, student services and business services for the Center. Whitney has also worked as Dean of Behavioral & Social Sciences for American River College for six years. He served as a tenured Professor of Economics for nine years. Whitney has a Master’s of Arts in economics, a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration, finance concentration and is currently ABD in Educational Leadership at UC Davis.


The mission of the President’s Office of Sacramento City College is to provide leadership for the operation of the college, support the Mission, Vision, and Values of the college, work collaboratively with sister colleges in the Los Rios Community College District, and contribute to the mission of the Los Rios Community College District.
