English Writing

Puente students take two consecutive writing courses, English Writing 101 (ENGWR) and 300.  These classes provide a supportive environment for Puente students to build confidence in their writing skills.  The content of both courses focuses on Latino, social, political and cultural issues.  Many out-of-class activities are linked to course content to enhance learning.

Students must assess, or be eligible for, ENGWR 101 in the Fall semester.  Our ENGWR 101 course in only taught in the Fall.  Our ENGWR 300 course is only taught in the Spring.  Puente courses are closed to all other students.  The cohort/program is limited to 30 students each year.
