Spring 2016

Safety Day

Thursday, January 28, 2016
Student Center, 10am-3pm

The ambitious project is the product of Student Senate President Marianna Sousa’s commitment to respond to the real needs of today’s students, conceived on the heels of the shooting that shocked campus and community in Fall 2015.

“Our Safety Day, to the best of my knowledge, is the first of its kind within the California Community Colleges system – a dedicated event, committed entirely to safety. Within the Student Senate, we intend to bring this idea to the state Capitol during Lobby Day, and push for every single college to have a mandated day dedicated to safety awareness and precaution, while instilling a culture of safety,” declared Sousa.
