Academic Progress

Your academic progress will be monitored.

A Veteran student on Academic or Progress probation status will be placed on dismissal for one of the following reasons:

  • The student’s grade point average (GPA) falls below 2.0 for more than two consecutive semesters.
  •  The student fails to complete at least half of his/her attempted units for more than two consecutive semesters.

Once a student is placed on Probation 2 or Dismissal, the student will also lose priority registration.

The SCC Veterans Office is required to notify the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) of this status. The DVA will terminate benefits unless it can be shown that the student is pursuing an appropriate objective and has a reasonable chance for success in the chosen program. Please contact the SCC Veterans Affairs Office for more information.
