Weekly Update #3 (09/07)

Quote: Believe in your flyness, conquer your shyness. Kanye WestWelcome to Week 3 of the semester…already!

By now, you memorized your class schedule, signed up for your first tutoring session in the Math Lab, and remembered your password to log onto Canvas!

While it’s great that you’ve settled into a routine, there may be a few things that you are still unsure of.  For example, why does everyone keep telling you to get an “iSEP,” to complete the “FAFSA,” (it’s not too late!), and to pick up your “UTP?”

Can someone – anyone! – just tell you what those mean?!?!

At Sacramento City College, there are many support services to assist you…you just have to know what they are, how to access them, and where to go!  A great starting point to locating these services is inside Rodda North…just start at one end of the hallway and you will find the International Student Center, Counseling, EOPS, and Financial Aid.  And, just within Counseling itself, you will also find the Health Services office, Transfer Center, Career Center, Umoja-SBA, Puente, and Work Experience!

College is not a journey that you take alone…we are here to help you succeed!

(By the way, here are the answers to the scenario above:  You can create an “iSEP” with a counselor, get information about the “FAFSA” from the Financial Aid office, and get your “UTP” sticker from the Learning Resource Center (second floor) so that you can use public transportation for free.)
