Welcome to the Sacramento City College Accreditation Web Page. Institutional Accreditation is public certification that institutions meet defined standards of quality and responsibility. Sacramento City College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The last Accreditation site visit to Sacramento City College occurred October 12-15, 2009. The Evaluation Report and letter reaffirming Accreditation was received in February 2010. The Commission took action to reaffirm accreditation. The college will be preparing a follow up report, related to the assessment of Student Learning Outcomes, due to the Commission by March 13, 2011. All colleges are required to submit a Midterm Report in the third year after a comprehensive evaluation. SCC's Midterm Report is due by October 14, 2012. The next comprehensive evaluation of SCC will occur during the Fall 2015.
Prior to the October 2009 site visit, a self study was written based on the current 2002 standards. A pre-self study committee was formed in Spring 2007 and the self study was completed in Spring 2009. The 2009 Self Study, as well as older accreditation documents can be found by using the links in the left menu bar of this page.
