All of the College's computers are on a replacement cycle to ensure that equipment is kept up-to-date and therefore able to support instruction, administration and student services. Most users are on a 5 year replacement cycle, three year cycle computers are assigned to faculty who teach courses requiring computers or labs where the most current software is a requirement for a course. Other computers are updated by cascading 3 year cycle equipment; these computers are typically intalled in low use areas. Click here to view a spreadsheet which includes 5 year (through 2014) replacement cycle information. Computers designated for 2009 replacement are being installed this semester (Fall 2009).
The spreadsheet is sorted by division, asset location, projected replacement year and computer type. The spreadsheet includes information on function. Common functions are FS (Faculty/Staff) and Lab. To look up a specific computer, use the asset location number which can be found on a label on your tower. The convention employed in creating the Asset Location number is the room number, dash, serial number (LR220-470318). If you would like to sort this spreadsheet, you must download and save it.
