Students & Staff Donate to Blood Source

On Sept. 1 and 2, three Blood Source buses were stationed on Panther Parkway for students and staff to give blood in the semi-annual drive. Approximately 200 individuals donated a pint of blood, with many signing up for the national bone marrow registry.

According to student coordinator and biology major Donis De Leon, Sacramento City College ranked seventh nationally (out of 250 colleges and universities) during the Spring 2015 blood drive. He said the college used to only require two buses for the number of people who donate, but the addition of the third bus shows that Panther Pride is high when it comes to donating blood and signing up for the bone marrow registry.
