Hundreds visited Sacramento City College on Saturday, April 29, to check out the vintage vehicles at a free car show celebrating the college’s 100th anniversary.
The event also featured a momentous occasion — the opening of a time capsule that had been buried in front of the library entrance since 1998, when the building first opened. The time capsule was accompanied by instructions that it was to be opened in the college’s 100th year. Treasures inside included VHS tapes, an Apple computer mouse, newspapers, card catalogs, and a highlighter pen.
The time capsule is one of several buried throughout the college since it was established at the Freeport Boulevard location in 1926.
