LGBTQIA Documentary Screening 12/8

Join lesbian activist and attorney Rosemary Metrailer on Friday, Dec. 8, for a screening of her documentary, “Legends of Courage,” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in PAC 201.

As a part of the film series for the LGBTQIA subcommittee of Staff Equity & Diversity and Student Equity, “Legends of Courage,” an LGBT oral history and documentary film series project, was founded in 2013 to preserve the rich social and political history of advocacy by men and women who led the movement for LGBT equality in the Sacramento region.

Together with 3D Media Solutions, the project focuses on a collection of filmed oral history interviews with individuals who played significant roles in this struggle. The inaugural documentary film features Metrailer, whom Sacramento City College has the opportunity to bring to campus to share her documentary and tell her story of courage and forthright strength in advancing civility for LGBT+ people.

Among the invited guests with the possibility to attend: civil rights advocates and LGBT activists, Laurie McBride, Dennis Mangers (former assembly member), Linda Birner, former publisher of MGW, law partners and civil rights attorneys, Carolyn Langenkamp, and Tami Buscho, and former Mayors Anne Rudin and Heather Fargo.
