Campus Closure Notice
Due to COVID-19, Sacramento City College PTA program will not have a new cohort for the 2020-2021 school year. All qualified applicants will be placed on the alternate candidate list and held over to the 2021-2022 school year. To maintain eligibility for Fall 2021 selection, alternate candidates will be required to submit an online application for returning applicants between March 15, 2021 and April 15, 2021
Physical therapist assistants (PTAs) are licensed health care providers who provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Physical therapist assistants treat patients with movement, strength, and coordination disorders in order to improve function, decrease pain, and increase independence.

Start your journey to a Physical Therapist Assistant degree by attending an information meeting. The information meeting for the 2020-2021 school year will be conducted via Zoom meeting.
Request to Attend
Prospective students need to fill out the Request to Attend an Informational Meeting to get an access code for the meeting. Please complete the form by 5:00 pm one day prior to the meeting in order to receive an email with the access code for the meeting.

PTA Mission Statement
To help meet the health care needs of the community the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Sacramento City College provides a comprehensive educational program that prepares a diverse student population for practice as licensed physical therapist assistants.
The advisory committee for the program consists of members representing the academic and clinical community, members of the general public, and student representatives. The advisory committee meets once per semester. See the current Advisory Committee Roster (PDF).
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Sacramento City College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
