CSU – Associate Degree for Transfer Petition for Graduation

Associate Degree for Transfer Graduation Requirements

California Community Colleges are now offering associate in arts (AA-T) and associate in science (AS-T) degrees for transfer to the California State University (CSU) system. These degrees are designed to provide a clear pathway to a CSU major and baccalaureate degree. California Community College students who are awarded an AA-T or AS-T degree are guaranteed admission with junior standing in the CSU system and are given priority admission consideration to their local CSU. This priority does not guarantee admission to specific majors or universities.

To earn an associate degree for transfer , students must complete the following requirements:

(1) Completion of a minimum of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following:

(A) The California State University General Education-Breadth Requirements (CSU)or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC-CSU Pathway).

(B) A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district.

(2) Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. ADTs also require that students must earn a “C” or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis.

NOTE: Incomplete petitions will not be accepted

In order to receive a degree, all requirements of that degree must have been met by the end of the term in which you petition. It is highly recommended that you meet with a counselor prior to submitting your graduation petition to ensure that you have met all the requirements for graduation.
