- If your first language is not English, to be certain that you are able to succeed in college-level courses and to be placed in the best level for your skills, you should take an English as a Second Language test.
- If you are a bilingual English speaker who needs help with writing, reading, grammar, listening, speaking, and/or pronunciation, you should take an English as a Second Language test.
- If you are a native speaker of English, or have native- or near-native-level control of English writing, reading, grammar, listening & speaking, you should take an English assessment test.
- If you are planning to enroll in math or science classes you should take a math assessment test.
