The Davis Center offers various student services to its patrons. Here is a little bit more information about each of them.

Learning Resource Center (LRC)

The LRC is located in room 215 at the Davis Center. It provides a comfortable atmosphere that can be used to study or relax.

In addition it also offers great services described below.

Hours of operation:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8am – 8:30pm
  • Friday: 8am – 3:30pm
  • Saturday-Sunday: Closed
  • The LRC is CLOSED when classes are not in session.

Printing/Copying & Computers

Printing and copying is available in the LRC via the GoPrint pay-per-print system at a cost of 10-cents/page. You may use your Student Access Card to make copies or prints at any GoPrint station at any college in the Los Rios District. Cards may be obtained, activated and additional value may be added here at the Davis Center.

A few computers are available for use in the LRC. The computers run Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016 and have access to GoPrint and the Internet as the standard configuration. In addition, a small number of Netbooks are available for 4-hour checkout. Please click HERE for more information.

Reserve Books

We do our best to have copies of the current semester textbooks available on our reserve shelf. The books can be checked out for 2 hours at a time, on a first-come, first-serve basis using a valid Student Access Card.

All reserve books must be returned to the Davis Center LRC. If you return Davis Center reserves to another Los Rios location, you will incur fines.

Student Access Cards (ID Cards)

The Student Access Card is your official college ID card. It also acts as your library card, GoPrint printing card, a transit pass (with a valid sticker) and may even give you a discount at participating stores and merchants. To get your card, you must bring a photo ID, be currently enrolled in classes and not have any outstanding balance due on your account.

Assessment Preparation – Sample Math packets up to Math 120 with answer keys.

Professor Resources – Class specific resources provided by faculty members.

Textbook Catalog – Textbooks that are available for 2 hour checkout at the Davis Center.

Study Resources – Worksheets in Math and Writing developed by LRC Staff.

Tutoring Schedule – Updated schedule for tutoring currently offered at the Davis Center.

Assessment Testing

We offer testing throughout the year. Students can take the Math, English, English Essay, English as a Second Language (ESL) and Chemistry tests.

Sign up is required. Please call us for details and to reserve a spot: 530-747-5200. You will need to bring a photo ID and your student ID number. Visit the Assessment Center website for more information and study guides.

Textbooks can be bought online and picked up at the Davis Center for no extra cost during business hours.

After placing the order, it will take at least three (3) days before your order will be ready for pickup.

To pickup your order, you will need to have a valid photo ID and your receipt.

PLEASE NOTE: All returns and buy backs must be made at the main campus College Store in Sacramento.

Career Center

SCC Career Center representative can help you with resumes, cover letters and interview skills, as well as, career research, job search and information on Internships and Work Experience. Stop by and explore your career opportunities!

In most cases, no appointment is required. Look for the Career Center table on the first floor of the Davis Center.

Academic counseling is available at the center by appointment. The schedule is somewhat limited, and the appointments tend to fill up quickly, especially during the beginning and end of each semester.

Limited DSPS counseling is also available. Please call 916-558-2087 to schedule an appointment with Toni, our DSPS counselor.

Disability Services & Programs for Students (DSPS)

The Davis Center provides academic support services to students with disabilities, mainly by offering exam accommodations and counseling. Please call 916-558-2087 to schedule an appointment with Toni, our DSPS counselor.

How To Get Accommodations:

  • Students need to apply for the program at the DSPS Office (students can arrange to meet a DSPS representative at the Davis Center).
  • Once approved, students will need to bring the Instructor Notification Letter (Approval Letter) and completed Testing Accommodation for to the Davis Center office.
  • Appointments for testing accommodation need to be made three (3) days in advance. Stop by the front desk or call the office at 530-747-5200 to make appointments.

Financial Aid

A representative from the Financial Aid office at the main campus visits our Center to answer all your financial aid questions. Call us at 530-747-5200 to schedule an appointment.

Health Services

Jeff Christian, RN, MSN can help you with blood pressure tests, body fat assessment, stress management and nutrition counseling, and much more. Appointments are not necessary, just check in at the front desk.

High School Students

Sacramento City College encourages 11th and 12th grade students (16 years of age or older) to enroll for advanced educational enrichment with the approval of their principal, counselor and parent/guardian. High school students may take a class which will end up posted on official college transcripts.

UCD Co-op Program

The Davis Center has a unique partnership with UC Davis. We provide basic skills courses for current UC Davis students to enhance their success in English writing, (and mathematics, and chemistry during the fall semester). The courses are offered on campus at UC Davis and they operate on the UC Davis academic calendar. Parking at UC Davis costs $9 daily.
