Charr Crail has been a photographer and artist all her life, and a working professional one for over 25 years. The better part of her career has been as a photojournalist—both as newspaper staffer and picture editor at various northern California papers including The Sacramento Bee.  She has served adjunct faculty at Sacramento City College teaching in both the Photography and Graphic Communication departments.

Currently, in addition to teaching, she’s a freelance photographer specializing in people, entertainment and imaginative photo illustrations.  She also speaks to professional groups and colleges about photography, digital imaging and puts on workshops teaching a series of creative hands-on digital techniques for absolute beginners all the way to seasoned pros wanting to go deeper with their own creative prowess.

Charr is an oft published photographer in both newspapers and magazines and has won many awards for her photography and art work world wide. She is well versed in the ethics of restrained digital editing necessary in photojournalism as well as the showy artistry that is possible with Photoshop and the digital and mobile age we have entered into.
