This program gives students the opportunity to complete the lower-division coursework in preparation for transfer to a four-year program in mathematics. Mathematicians work as statisticians, analysts, computer programmers, actuaries, researchers, planners, and educators.
Honors and Scholarships
The department currently offers one honors class: Statistics 480, Honors Intro to Statistics, is offered during the fall semesters. Contact Professor Debbie Van Sickle for more information. The department funds two scholarships via donations from the math faculty. Contact Professor Steve Gonzales regarding these.
Location
Math faculty offices are located in Rodda Hall South, the South Gym, and the Lusk Aeronautic Center. In Rodda South you will find the math offices directly across the hall from Rodda Hall South, RHS 172. In the South Gym the math offices are located inside the MSE Division office in South Gym, SOG 220. In the Lusk Aeronautic Center, there are two math faculty offices just inside the main door.
