RISE stands for Respect, Integrity, Self-determination & Education.
RISE is a support service for students where we go above and beyond to ease the transition from high school to community college. We believe in emphasizing to our students the importance of achieving higher education through transfer. Rise takes the “family approach” in order for SCC students to feel welcomed on campus.
At RISE our philosophy is every student can successfully complete college if they choose to. Our goal is to help students get connected at Sacramento City College.

“A place to seek positive attitudes, a home…a peaceful world.”
“RISE is a Home away from Home.”
“RISE is FAMILY.”
“RISE: My motivation. My Comfort. My Strength.”
You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lies, you may trod me in the very dirt but still, like dust, I’ll RISE.
