SCC Davis Center Welcome Day (PDF)

Wednesday, August 22, 2018 (11am – 1pm)

Come check out the Welcome Day Picnic at the Davis Center in collaboration with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the second Davis Center Building. Listen to music, win some prizes, check out the student clubs, departmental resources and learn how SCC supports the community.

A day long campus-wide welcome to new and returning students generally held on the quad. Check out SCC programs and services, enjoy free entertainment, and partake in the lunch time barbecue.

Constitution Day (PDF)

Tuesday, September 18, 2018 (11:30 – 1pm)

This day has been recognized by all institutions of higher education to promote awareness and education on the United States Constitution. Public Law 108-447 was signed into law by President George Bush designating September 17th as Constitution Day. This event will take place from 11:30 – 1pm in the SCC quad; in collaboration with the Davis Center Political Science Club, this year we are excited to have California’s Secretary of State Alex Padilla speak to students at 12pm on the Quad.

SCC West Sacramento Center Student Appreciation Day – Fall (PDF)

Come check out Student Appreciation Day at the West Sacramento Center from 9am – 1pm. Join us for some fun activities, giveaways, campus resources, and a chance to meet some of Sacramento City College’s clubs, programs and departments.

Check out the student clubs on campus and all they have to offer midday on the quad. If you don’t make a connection, then learn how to organize and start your own club.

Arts & Crafts Faire (PDF)

Tuesday – Thursday, October 9, 10 & 11, 2018 (9am – 6pm)

The Arts & Crafts Faire brings in vendors to SCC from all over the region to offer their goods at reasonable prices. Whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else, enjoy the great bargains, food, and entertainment during this 3-day event.

Harvest Festival (PDF)

October 25, 2018 (12pm-4pm in the Student Center)

Come to the Student Center for a free event to enjoy harvest themed arts and crafts, games, and family friendly contests. This event is made possible by the Clubs and Events Board and local business’.

Fall De-Stress Fest

December 3-6, 2018 (10am-2pm every day in the Student Center)

Come to the Student Center everyday between 10am-2pm for activities to help students, faculty and staff de-stress before finals. Monday- Health Services will host therapy Dogs will be on site to help you relax. Tuesday- Student Senate will host Zumba and hand out free finals supplies. Wednesday- Clubs and Events Board will host the SCC Writing Center and Tutoring Center on tips for studying, free snacks and activities. Thursday- Student Leadership & Development and the Games Club will host games, prizes, karaoke, coffee, hot chocolate and light snacks. Student Elections

March – April, 2019

Sacramento City College and the Los Rios Community College District (LRCCD) hold student elections for SCC Student Associated Council (SAC) positions and the LRCCD Student Trustee. Election information will be available starting February 25th,  petitions to run for a position will be due March 18th, and the elections will be held April 9th – 10th from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on via eServices. Consider getting involved in student government by running for a position. At minimum, make sure you vote and have your voice be heard.

Empowerment BBQ (PDF)

Tuesday, April 9, 2019 (11am – 2pm)

Join us in promoting participation, engagement, and voting in the SCC Students Associated Council elections and in the local June elections! We will be having election material at each table as well as a FREE hot dog barbecue between 11:30am until the items run out. If your org/club/department is interested in tabling, the form is available in SOG226.

Earth Week in the Quad

Tuesday – Wednesday, April 23-24, 2019

We expect over 1,000 people to attend Earth Week. We hope you can celebrate Earth Week with us too! There will be a variety of activities in the quad such as conservation Information, vendors, food, music and games.

People’s Day

Thursday, May 9, 2019 (9am – 6pm)

This is a day long campus-wide event for the campus community to come together in celebration of another year gone by. Come out to the SCC quad area to experience our student talent and other entertainment throughout the day. While you’re there, shop at vendor booths and enjoy the food.
