Convocation Fall 2017

Los Rios Chancellor’s Newsletter, August 2017

Dear colleagues,

It was great seeing many of you at last week’s Convocation. The opportunity to visit each one of our colleges to kick off the semester is incredibly valuable for me, as I get a chance to witness first hand both the uniqueness of our respective colleges as well as the fundamental work that unifies us. For those of you who weren’t able to attend Convocation, here is a link to my presentation: “From Planning to Action.”

I make it a point to follow-up after each Convocation with links to resources mentioned in the presentation, should you want to learn more about the topics covered. Please find below links to:

It is certainly a time of significant change in our system and, as I mentioned during Convocation, that pace is more likely to increase than slow down in the coming years. I’m confident the values that have served Los Rios so well for generations – collaboration, transparency and, above all else, service to students – will help position us to meet the evolving needs of our communities throughout this time of remarkable change.

As always, I welcome any comments or questions about the topics covered at Convocation, or any other items you would like to share:
