The Counseling department provides prospective and current students with comprehensive academic, career, and personal counseling necessary to successfully reach their goals. Counseling services are offered at the Sacramento City College main campus, as well as the Davis and West Sacramento Educational Centers. Bilingual services are available in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Russian depending on location.

Students must have completed an SCC Application 24 hours before attempting to schedule an appointment.
Video Appointments are in High Demand
We are experiencing a very high demand for video appointments as they fill very quickly each day. Appointments are released at midnight for the same day for the following week.
On Wednesday 6/10/20 at 12:00 midnight the schedule will open up for Wednesday 6/16/20 and so forth.
This appointment is held entirely online, from wherever you are. It does not involve an office visit.

Counselors provide assistance with certificate/degree requirements, transfer requirements, and college selection preparation for an academic major course selection. Counselors will help new students create an Education Plan during a City Jam.
Career goals should be based on interests, personal values, aptitude, and life experiences. Your counselor can explore and select the best major and career goal for you.
Resources and workshops in the Career Center are highly recommended.
Counselors provide confidential, short-term, non-therapeutic counseling with personal, family, or work concerns as they relate to educational goals.
Crisis services are available to students who are experiencing acute emotional distress and require immediate attention. For assistance, please come directly to the Counseling Center, RN 147 in Rodda North, first floor.
